About the Project

The Technical Assistance Project for Establishment of Eskişehir Design and Innovation Centre is carried out within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Programme, co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The Programme aims to increase the competitiveness of our country by reducing the foreign trade deficit and increasing efficiency with projects particularly related to R&D and innovation.

The Project, implemented by Anadolu Technology Research Park (ATAP Inc.) which is a management company of the Eskişehir Technology Development Zone (ETGB) in Eskişehir, is divided into two components as supply and technical assistance, and the total approved budget is 3.894.880,00 euros.

The aim of the Centre is to increase competitiveness of SMEs, operating primarily in the aviation, railway, machinery, automotive and white goods sectors in Eskişehir province and its surroundings, in global markets with innovative products; to support the development of engineering, design and prototyping capabilities; thus, to reduce the foreign trade deficit of our country, and to increase the competitiveness level of the region in the world.

The Centre, with its technical equipment such as 3D Metal Printer, 3D Plastic Printer, Heat Treatment Furnace, Wire Erosion, 5 Axis CNC milling and turning machines, Surface Grinding Machine, 3D Optical Scanner, Generator, Computers and Special Software, will have a direct impact on the innovation and production processes of enterprises by improving their design and R&D capabilities. EDIC will create an opportunity for companies to benefit from engineering, design and prototyping services provided in workshops. It will also serve as a platform for new collaborations by bringing industry, universities, and entrepreneurs together.

The Technical Assistance Project for Establishment of Eskişehir Design and Innovation Centre, providing technical assistance to ensure the operationalisation of EDIC, to increase its visibility and to develop the capacities of SMEs, started on 27 July 2020 and will continue for 30 months.
